Dr. Leonardo Baez
Dr. Baez was born and raised in Cuernavaca, Mexico. After receiving his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the National University of Mexico School of Veterinary Medicine, he and wife ventured to Oklahoma State University CVHS for US licensing and continuing credentials.
Dr. Baez has served as a consultant with many international pet industry companies, bringing their products and education to Latin America. He opened his first clinic in 1984, the Animal Emergency Center of Oklahoma City in 2000, and the Animal Emergency Center in 2007.
Dr. Baez and his wife, Margaretta, have worked together caring for the pets of Oklahoma for over 30 years. In that time they have raised three beautiful daughters Gabriella, Tess, and Amanda, and have one grandson, Lux, with another on the way. Dr. Baez’s blood runs blue and orange for the OKC Thunder, and can be found cheering loudly at most games! He also enjoys playing tennis, and is very involved in the Oklahoma City community.
After retiring for 2 months in 2013, he and his wife felt it was time to open Midtown Vets, offering gold standard medical care for the pets of their neighbors and friends.
Dr. Luisa Parra
Dr. Luisa Parra was born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University, and in 2007 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine…GO POKES!
Although she can`t get enough of all the cute Frenchie puppies here at Midtown Vets, she has a special interest in senior pets and their quality of life in their golden years. She also enjoys ophthalmology & preventative care medicine.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her 2 fur babies, Jager & Ranger, her boyfriend Jeremey, and their 2 kiddos Brooklin and Korbin. She loves anything outdoors, but especially time at the lake, skiing, and hiking.
“My pets keep me sane and full of happiness.” This is Leah Lopez, Office Manager at Midtown Vets. Leah’s been with the team since before Midtown Vets was even open back in August of 2015. At home, she’s got a dachshund mix named Zoey, a basset hound/Jack Russell mix named Millie Bear, and a domestic longhair cat named Prince Holstein. “Hearing our clients’ stories and watching their families grow is something I truly cherish. Plus, who doesn’t love getting to see dogs, cats, and rabbits each day?” At home, Leah enjoys DIY house projects, Netflix, and being outside with her dogs. Her future plans include traveling to Europe, where she will explore everything the culture has to offer. But while we’ve got her here, come by and say hello!

“What I like most about my job are my clients and their fur-babies.” This is India Winters, Office Coordinator at Midtown Vets. She’s been with the team for over a year and is a big fan of the client interaction that comes with her job. “I love engaging with our clients and learning new things about their lives.” A fur-baby owner herself, India has a 5-year old pit mix at home named Kiya Renee, who is an avid cuddler. When she isn’t working, she loves to spend time baking, cooking, and planning her bucket list trip to India, where she wants to explore the culture that her name represents. “I think clients want to know that their babies are being loved and cared for in the best way possible.” This is Melissa Milligan, Kennel Technician at Midtown Vets. Melissa has been with the Midtown Vets team for over three years. Her favorite part of the job is the pets and their owners: “I love working with the animals! Building relationships and bonding with the pets and their owners is my favorite.” At home she has a pit mix named Junie, a terrier mix named Lulu, and a white American bulldog named Mojo. Outside of work, Melissa loves painting, watching Dateline with her fiancé, and spending time with her two kids, Austin and Kyleigh. Among the many items on her bucket list, Melissa’s first would be opening up her own art studio one day. Next time you’re in, say hello to Melissa!
“I enjoy client education. Being able to share what and why we do things as a veterinary team is an integral part of the Midtown Vets experience.” This is Samantha “Sammie” Dring, Veterinary Nurse at Midtown Vets. She’s been with the team since October of 2016. “Helping owners understand the health of their pets is such a rewarding experience. I believe people want to know that their fur-babies are our number one priority.” Sammie has a nine-year-old miniature schnauzer named Cloud City, and a six-year-old Siberian husky named Leia. On her time off, she loves to relax with friends and family, listen to music, and eat at all of her favorite local restaurants. She is currently in the process of marking off her bucket list dream of visiting all the U.S. national parks. Swing by our office and say hello to Sammie!
“Being able to save a pet’s life is the most rewarding thing to me.” This is Bianca Sepulbeda, Veterinary Technician at Midtown Vets. Bianca has been with the team for six months. “I think the clients want to feel a personal connection with the team. They want to trust us completely with their four-legged children.” At home, Bianca has three cats and one dog. Outside of work, you might see Bianca taking her dog for a car ride or spending time at some of her favorite Midtown spots like McNellie’s or Waffle Champion. She plans to visit New Mexico to see the International Balloon Festival and to hopefully have the chance of riding in a hot air balloon herself. Come say hello to Bianca!
“I love helping animals that can’t tell you what’s wrong or what hurts.” This is Savannah Trotter, Veterinary Technician at Midtown Vets. Savannah has four amazing rescues that she gets to come home to every day: a fifteen-year-old longhair cat named Tori, an eight-year-old shorthair cat named Luna, a four-year-old pit bull named Daisy, and a one-year-old boxer named Nova. An avid adventurer, Savannah loves everything from camping and hiking, to other activities like yoga and tending to her garden. Her bucket list also includes similar things like skydiving and rock climbing, and she looks forward to the day that she can visit a number of haunted historical landmarks throughout the world.
